    This is a paid internship. The HR Intern will learn how to take skills acquired in school related to particular interest and gain a better understanding of Human Resources.


    Primary Duties:

    HR Administration

    1.       Performs customer service functions by answering phones, employee requests, and questions

    2.       Processes and collects department mail

    3.       Assist in invoicing and/or billing

    4.       Prepares and maintains all employee files – actual and virtual


    1.       Schedules interviews and candidate debriefs

    2.       Makes travel arrangements for out of state candidates

    3.       Monitors applicant tracking system to assist with sourcing, disposition of candidates, compliance reports, and ensure system accuracy

    4.       Pre-screens applicants for qualification, availability, and organizational fit

    5.       Assist with background check processing and new hire paperwork

    6.       Understands on-boarding process and is able to make recommendations for improvement

    7.       Partners with Recruiter to complete on-boarding process for hires at all levels


    Secondary Duties:


    1.       Trains new hires and provides guidance to employees

    2.       Answers basic benefit questions and directs employees to call center when applicable

    3.       Assist in annual Open Enrolment process

    Performance Management

    1.       Understands the process timeline to assist end users (Managers and Employees) with system questions


    1.       Uses system to complete market data analysis

    Other projects as assigned


    ·         Leadership experience in school or organization

    ·         Ability to work effectively in diverse and dynamic work environment

    ·         The ability to take direction from multiple people and manage multiple tasks concurrently

    ·         Have the ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential material and possess good business judgment

    ·         A positive, "can do" attitude

    ·         Excellent written and verbal communication

    ·         Strong attention to detail

    ·         A strong interest in a career in Human Resources

    ·         Strong computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel


    The candidate should be working towards a Bachelor's or a Master's degree in Business, HR  or a related field

    The candidate must have finished their sophomore or junior year in college
