Overview

Provide day-to-day Process Engineering support to all areas of the company (Manufacturing, Product Assurance, Procurement, and Engineering Process Development).

Responsibilities

  1. Oversight of production processes with a focus towards improving processes, avoiding problems, and the timely resolution of production issues. All activities are completed in an effort to support the on-time and cost efficient shipment of quality products that meet the performance expectations of the Military/Aerospace industry.
  2. Develop plans, schedules, and identify resources required to improve existing processes and to develop and introduce new high yielding processes in a timely fashion.
  3. Provide technical direction to DDC’s Operations team including Outsource partners. Research new technology and assist in bringing new technical capability to DDC’s Manufacturing or Outsource Partners.
  4. Assist with new product and package development and provide support for the timely fabrication of new products. This work includes design and development of fixtures and machine programing to support new design introduction.
  5. Assist in developing creative approaches that favorably optimize design tradeoffs for various elements of a design such as product cost, performance, feature set, time to market, and technical risk.        This can also include direct customer interaction on new designs and for support for existing designs.

 

Secondary Duties:

  1. Support Applications Engineering or Product Assurance staff to solve technical problems relating to the use of DDC’s products in customers applications.
  2. Visit, review and report on suppliers’ facilities, capabilities and/or processes.
  3. Participate in technical meetings with various standards settings associations to contribute to standards development and/or to report on issues that may influence DDC’s business or technical direction.

 

Qualifications

  

  1. Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Applied Sciences is strongly preferred.
  2. 5 or more years related experience preferred
  3. Demonstrated ability to develop, articulate and present technical information in both written and verbal forms.
  4. Knowledge of MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534, and Lean and Six Sigma techniques desirable.
